Connectedness

My week this week involved a lot of networking which I cover over in my personal blog. But it got me thinking about the one of the rebels greatest insights - the ability to connect and influence change through people.

Rebels understand that the greatest leverage comes from their capacity to cultivate and nurture relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and stations in life. This connects us into the greater ‘Matrix’ of the world around us and keeps us informed of change and flow long before others get to hear about it. This gives us the edge. For rebels everyone matters - not just the people who make the decisions that affect us directly.

Rebels wield power inside organisations because they truly understand that its no longer ones position that give’s one power in this new age of purpose and passion - it is one’s relationships with others.

Rebels also understand that there is a greater connectedness too - a connectedness with all humanity and even the planet itself. We are products of our environments and once produced, we then shape the environment further. It would fair to say that all of us, once we come on the earth, are co-creators of the future. That is why more rebels are focusing on philanthropic works.

Another unknown rebel joined the ranks recently. While I was facilitating a financial sales team around their own motivation, purpose and passion one of the team mentioned that a senior manager in the bank had recently just thrown in the job - causing a great deal of consternation - and left to become a teacher. Now it’s arguable which of the two has more stress - banking or teaching kids- but obviously teaching had more meaning.

Here’s a classic example of one man stepping into his passion.

He truly had the courage to release his rebel- Be Fearless! be Free!
